Why Volunteer?

Our volunteers have amazing adventures while supporting the ethics of sustainability, stewardship, conservation, and cultural appreciation. Here’s what a few of them had to say:

“Park rangers, guides, and visitors thanked us for our efforts. I felt as though we connected with one another in a way that I never have before during my lifetime of travels.”

“I truly enjoyed the teamwork while working outdoors amidst the grandeur of Torres del Paine. My kind of vacation!!”

“Wonderful sights – high mountains – great camaraderie – best people in the world to work with. Never had so much fun getting dirty!”

“As soon as I entered the small hidden room inside the Sacred City and the archaeologist explained the religious ceremony of the Inca, my whole body tingled. There was something in there, a powerful force, that I will never forget.”

“The mixture of work and sightseeing was perfect.”

“We enjoyed the interaction with locals. When they learned we were volunteers, we were welcomed as old friends.”

“Our guide was great. There was never a question that he could not answer. Not only that, he always helped me understand my question within a broader context of the life and culture.”

“Impact. That’s what I will remember. We made a positive impact.”

“While volunteering at the Mariposa Butterfly Garden we learned that the caretaker was a volunteer. All our differences of culture and distance instantly fell away. We were like brothers.”

“This trip opened my eyes … I have a better appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the rangers.”

“My hike on the Inca trail was my personal Mount Everest. It was the most physically challenging thing I’ve ever done. The group leaders, other volunteers, and the park rangers all encouraged me to succeed as we hiked along the trail. Now I feel that I can tackle anything life throws my way.”
