Santiago Metropolitan Park, Chile, October 10-18, 2009. Located in the foothills above Santiago, the Forest Nature Center is Chile’s first urban environmental education facility, and newest Sister Park to San Francisco Golden Gate Park. This partnership brings together two world-class urban parks to exchange best practices and broaden the experiences of both park employees and park users. Rangers have asked Conservation VIP volunteers for help restoring degraded ecosystems and maintaining a trail to a popular viewpoint. Trip includes international air, bus, food, and dormitory lodging inside the park.  Also included during our rest days are educational field trips to Santiago's historic downtown district, and a full day exploring the agricultural and wine region of the Casablanca Valley, ending at Valparaiso seaport, the Pearl of the Pacific. $1795*

Machu Picchu Sanctuary, Peru, November 7-21, 2009 and April 17- May 1, 2010. Machu Picchu stands at a crossroads. In response to visitor impacts UNESCO may place Machu Picchu on the list of endangered World Heritage Sites. Volunteers are needed to help protect Peru’s famed Inca citadel, including archaeological restoration and Inca Trail repairs. While visiting one of the Seven New Wonders of the World brings its own reward, working with park rangers brings even greater satisfaction. Conservation VIP is the first and only volunteer group authorized to work within the Sacred City. Trip includes international & domestic air, bus & trains, food, lodging in hotels and orientation tours. $3695*

Torres del Paine Nat’l Park, March 13-28, 2010.

Rising from the flat steppes with breathtaking abruptness, the craggy mountains of Torres del Paine National Park in southern Patagonia are an astonishing sight. However, increased visitation on poorly maintained trails has caused soil to erode into streams and lakes, led visitors into sensitive wildlife habitat, and created safety problems for visitors. Now,

Park Rangers have asked Conservation VIP volunteers to help protect the park and maintain park trails. Trip includes international & domestic flights, boat, buses, food, and lodging in hotels & mountain lodges. $3695*
